Thank you for taking the time to visit my personal website, I do hope you find the information useful.
I was delighted to be re-elected as the Police & Crime Commissioner for Northumbria in May 2016, to receive over 120,000 more votes than my nearest rival was a great honour and I thank you for your continued support.
I’ve worked hard to ensure that issues such as tackling Anti-Social Behaviour remains high on the policing agenda. Right across Northumbria, police officers work in partnership with organisations to ensure the minority who cause a problem know their behaviour is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Our work has been recognised by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary as being outstanding in the way we tackle anti-social behaviour. I have also ensured that Northumbria leads the way in tackling domestic abuse / violence, a regional strategy has been implemented and police officers are better trained to offer support and advice to victims.
Throughout my work, I will always ensure victims of crime remain at the heart of everything we do and they get the support they need. I’m proud that we are getting it right, as we have a satisfaction rate of 90%, one of the highest in the country – but I want this figure even higher.
Since 2010, the Tories (supported by the Lib Dems) have cut more than £100 million from Northumbria Police budget. Despite these challenges, I will continue to ensure your priorities are delivered by Northumbria Police.
Northumbria deserves the very best policing. I will continue to ensure effective policing is delivered for you and your family.
